A renovation of the brewery block was the final step in the Aura West Bank's redevelopment. This building served as a brewery until the 1980s, and in 2001 was converted to the headquarters for Hartela Ltd., a contracting company with approximately one hundred employees. Two fundamental design concepts were to change the main entry at the Aura River Bank and to open the entry hall, penetrating all three floors and attaining a free height of 17 meters. The opening of the hall made it possible to extend daylight into the internal spaces of the voluminous building. Open workplaces are stationed along the external walls, allowing rooms requiring more enclosure to be located toward the center, separated from the atrium by movable glass partitions. The central conference room controls privacy through a series of electrically adjustable partitions.
