Tangshan is a historical city in Hebei province widely known for its 1976 Great Tangshan earthquake. This commercial narrow plot was to be developed as a new commercial hub consisting of a hotel and office tower with a boutique shopping mall as a podium.The massing of the project intents to create an image of a one consistent building group with landmark qualities. The podium elevations are cladded using local stone inside a glass curtain wall giving it a mysterious glow and unified feeling. Towers clean glass curtain walls use dark grey glass with diagonal cuts referencing a mountain range in the background.
